In gesture recognition systems, one of the toughest challenges is the continuous recognition of gestures, 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. The system has to be wearable for prolonged periods, and the resulting gesture data tends to be large. Evaluation of the recognition methods relies on recording the raw sensor data and repeating the analysis on these datasets with different classifiers. Soft drinks are beverages that typically contain carbonated water, a flavoring component, and sweeteners, and are linked to a range of health problems. The aim of this project will be evaluate methods to assess soft drink intake using a variety of embedded platforms and sensor modalities, with a particular focus on their deployability at large.

Android is one of the most deployed Linux distribution worldwide [1]. However it does not adhere to the Linux Standard Base (LSB) [2], nor to the Filesystem Hierachy Standard (FHS) [3]. This, together with other factors, limits the amount of Linux software that can be run directly on an Android system.
